We are a buy-sell-trade shop in Fort Bragg California that has been in business for six years. We started our little shop in 2014 with our tax return with the intention of bringing affordable style to our area while allowing youth in low income households the opportunity to to shop for free. We offer low income youth trending styles and big brands they wouldn’t otherwise be able to access while allowing the public to trade or shop for clothes as well.
Why is our mission to help low income youth? My husband had first hand experience growing up. Going through middle school and highschool is hard enough, but add to that the feeling you are different because you can't afford “big brand” or in style clothing just makes a hard time harder.
We wanted to make it our mission to help youth in need so we hired buyers in SanFrancisco who source trending clothing and we bring shipments in monthly specifically for this purpose. We also train our in store buyers to look for trending clothing and popular brands, combining trends for youth as well as more mature shoppers, always keeping quality and trend in mind.
We love our customers and our community and hope we can be around for years to come!
With Love, Daphne
In the beginning of March 2020, when the threat of Covid 19 became a reality people stoped shopping and our shop lost revenue very fast. By the time we were shut down by the city in mid March we were already operating in the red. Sadly our insurance can’t help with lost revenue, our landlord cant afford to forgive rent and the SBA cant give us a loan to save our shop.
Our only hope is that we dig our way our of this ourselves and we think our shop is worth fighting for as it is one of the only affordable clothing shops here in our area, as most target wealthy tourists. We need this shop for our residents. It really is their place, not ours and that is giving us the incentive to fight for our shop, Cloth.
Here is our idea: We will list the clothing in our shop for donation only here on our website. That way no matter what people can pay they can pay and every little bit just might help us save the shop.. I mean the clothing is just sitting there right? We can also accept straight donations on our site, of which we will use 50% toward clothing for low income youth and 50% toward our rent and misc costs needed to save our shop.
The third way we can get through this is by asking people who want to donate clothing to simply send quality photos of clothing they wish to donate to us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will list those items on our site. If the items are purchased we will collect them from you in person or via shipment paid for by us. Clothing should be in style, in season and in good condition. We are also listing pajamas and loungewear, swimwear, masks and scarves. See a full list of brands and items we are taking by clicking the link below. Thank you so much for any help you can give!! We have hope!
